Mary Frances McKellar McCaleb, 93, of Columbus, MS, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden – Triangle in Columbus, MS. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Ron Thomas and Rev. Gary Walker officiating. She will be buried next to her husband, the late Woodrow Wilson McCaleb at Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the service. Mrs. McCaleb was born on Saturday, December 4, 1915, in Columbus, MS, to the late Charles Albert and Jessie Ann McCrary McKellar. She served Columbus Hospital as the Executive Director of Housekeeping and retired after 20 years of employment. She was a member of East End Baptist Church, where her grandmother McCrary had been one of the founding members. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband – Woodrow, brothers – Edward, Buck, J.W. and Charles A. McKellar, Jr. and a sister – Ethel Ann Williams. She is survived by her son – Dr. Fred W. McCaleb of Columbus, MS; daughter – Gail McCaleb Willis (Don) of Dunedin, FL; brother – William McKellar and sister – Ada Jean Massey both of Columbus, MS. She is also survived by three grandchildren – William Stewart McCaleb, Rockport, TX, Karen Willis Collington (Bob), Tampa, FL and Richard Davis Willis (Martha), Clearwater, FL and three great-grandchildren – Angel McCaleb, Scott Collington and Rachael Willis.
