REFORM, Ala. — Marjorie Redus McDonald, 97, died June 10, 2009, at Cherry Hill, N.J., formerly of Reform, Ala. Services are today at 11 a.m. at Reform First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susie Knedlik officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service and visitation will follow the service at the church. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery, of Reform. Skelton Funeral Home, of Reform, is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. McDonald was born Nov. 24, 1911, Oakman, Ala. to the late Rev. Edward B. Redus, minister of the Methodist Church in Oakman and Della Marchbanks Redus. She graduated from Jones Valley High School and Birmingham Southern College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Reform, where she participated in church services, taught school at Pickens County High School and worked for the State of Alabama as a social worker in Carrollton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curry McDonald; sisters, Robbie Howington, of Century, Fla., Irma Adair, of Montgomery, Ala. and Elizabeth Trow, of Hapeville, Ga.; and her brother, Edward Redus, of Orlando, Fla. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Riddle, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
