CARROLLTON, Ala. — Malcolm Wilson “Mack” Alexander Sr., 96, died April 26, 2009, at Pickens County Medical Center. Memorial services were today at 11 a.m. at Carrollton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Hammons officiating. Private graveside services were held at Carrollton City Cemetery. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform, Ala., was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Alexander was born April 4, 1913, in Clarke County to the late Robert Milton Alexander and Edna Crawford Alexander. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church, a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ervie J. Alexander; brothers, Hubert Alexander and Robert M. Alexander II; and sister, Ellen A. McPherson. He is survived by his daughter, Claudia A. Lewis of Aliceville, Ala.; sons, Malcolm Wilson Alexander Jr. of Fairhope, Ala., and John Cary Alexander of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
