COLUMBUS — Maggie Bell Shelton, 65, died Sept. 3, 2017, at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Full Gospel MB Church with Freddie Edwards Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Carter’s Funeral Service of Columbus. Ms. Shelton was born Oct. 12, 1951, to the late John and Mattie Shelton. She was a graduate of B.F. Liddell High School, Mississippi University for Women and Mississippi State University. She was a member of Shiloh Full Gospel MB Church. She was previously employed as a teacher with Earl Nash Elementary. She is survived by her children, Courtney Shelton and Rafael Shelton, both of Columbus; siblings, Ruben Shelton, Willie James Shelton and Ernest Shelton, all of Brooksville, Leon Shelton, Lillie Shelton, Hazel Shelton and Mary Ann Ross, all of Columbus, L.V. Shelton of Wilmington, California, John Earl Shelton of Cypress, California, and Anthony Shelton of Long Beach, California. Pallbearers will be L.V. Shelton, Ernest Shelton, Willie James Shelton, Akeem Shelton, John Earl Shelton, Anthony Shelton, Ruben Shelton and Anthony Jenkins.
