STEENS — Lorrie Godfrey, 48, died March 22, 2009, at her residence. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Verona with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow at Gilvo Cemetery. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Ms. Godfrey was born July 31, 1960, in Chicago to the late Jessie and Jean Tackett. She was a resident of Tupelo prior to moving to Steens eight years ago. She attended First Pentecostal Church in Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Tackett. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Holcomb of Steens; fiancé, Tommy Logan of Steens; stepmother, Sonja Tackett of Mantachie; brother, John Tackett of Ohio; half-sister, Mary Ann Hall of Mantachie; and four grandchildren.
