COLUMBUS — Lorraine Sparks, 91, died Dec. 15, 2012, at Homeplace of Columbus. Services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation is Monday one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Miss Sparks was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Columbus, to the late Clarence B. and Annie Mae Sullivan Sparks. She was a graduate of Lee High School and received degrees from MSCW and the University of Alabama. She was an elementary school teacher at Demonstration, Fairview, and Coleman, and she also was a member and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eloise Crossley Sunday School Class, Pilot Club and Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Sparks Harrison; and brother, Clarence Bernard Sparks Jr. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
