Lois Brumley, 92, of Columbus, MS, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 8, 2017, at 1:00PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. A graveside will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Brumley was born April 8, 1925, to the late Benjamin and Estelle Nabors Sims in Lamar County, AL. She was a retired beautician and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and tending to her flower beds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Walter “Johnny” Brumley; brothers- Otis Sims, Odell Sims, Hurston Sims, Howard Sims; and great-grandson- Brandon Houser. Mrs. Brumley is survived by her daughter- Darlena Thompson; grandchild- Bridgette Houser; great-grandchild- Tyler Houser; and sister- Nell Wallace Hoyt. Pallbearers will be Tyler Houser, Kenneth Thompson, Sidney Thompson, Bob Clark, James Clark, and Jerry Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Baptist Memorial Hospice, Dr. Brett Brown, and the Staff of Aurora Nursing Home. A special thank you to Jackie Johnson of Aurora and a heartfelt thank you to Denise Johnson for her loving care.
