Lewis Younger

Lewis Grant Younger passed away, at his home in Columbus, MS, on June 7, 2019. He is survived by his father, Ken Younger (Lynda) of Memphis; his brother, Alex Younger (Kristin) of Southaven; and his uncles, Jerry Younger of Memphis, John Younger of Jackson, MS, and Dean and Grant Perry of Midwest City, OK. He also is survived by numerous cousins and friends, who will cherish the memory of his kind and gentle personality. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leota Perry Younger; his paternal grandparents, Lewis “Junior” and Sarah Andrews Younger and Ausman and Helen Silar Perry. Lewis was an honor graduate of Heritage Academy and a proud graduate of Mississippi State University. He also was a participant in the first Governor’s School at MUW and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Visitation will take place at the College Street location of Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory in Columbus, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 15. A 3:30 PM graveside service at the Younger family square in Friendship Cemetery will follow.
