Lee Morton

WEST POINT — Lee Russell Morton, 75, died June 7, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, at St. Paul M.B. Church, with the Rev. Eddie A. Longstreet officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morton was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Clay County, to the late Carsey Clark Morton and Mattie Pearl Morton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Morton; daughter, Angela Terrell; son, Shawn Morton; and siblings, Mary Trammell, Cornelious Morton and Carsey Morton Jr.

He is survived by his siblings, Fannie Morton Pie, Claudette Stamos, both of Chicago, Illinois, Mary L. Usery of St. Louis, Missouri, and Willie Swift of West Point; and five grandchildren.
