West Point — Lee O. Foster, 84, died, July 8, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al Stockton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is today 5-8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Mr. Foster was born May 6, 1925, in Sulligent, Ala., to the late Rachel Yerby and Anthony Livingston Foster. He retired from both the United States Army, retiring after 22 years and having served both in World War II and the Korean War and then the United States Postal Service, retiring after 15 years. He was a member of Church of God, West Point Masonic Lodge No.40, F. & A. M, and Martha Chapter No. 53 Order of the Eastern Star where he served as Past Worthy Patron. In addition to his parents, He was also predeceased by sisters and brothers; Dessie Hollis, Annie Millsaps, Lena Chapman, Clady Foster, Grady Foster, Oleas Foster and Veldee Foster. He is survived by his wife, Martha Hunt Foster, of West Point; daughter, Martha Worthen, of Altus, Okla.; son, Larry Olen Foster, of West Point; and nine grandchildren and one stepgrandson. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Charles Edward, Travis Lee and Brian Michael Paramore, Anthony Livingston Foster, Nichole Lee Gernjak, Kimberly Ann Sparks and Joey Lynn Harvey.
