VERNON, Ala. — Larry Hankins, 84, died May 2, 2019. Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Finch and Fred Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon City Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Chandler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hankins was born Aug. 9, 1934, in Lamar County, Alabama, to the late Shields and Icie Hankins. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed with Sanford Company and Bostick’s Furniture. He attended Vernon Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Shoop and Jo Ellen Sisson; and brother, James Earl Hankins. He is survived by his son, Jeff Hankins of Vernon; daughter, Jenni Hankins of Vernon; sisters, Christine Miles and Janet Mitchell; and one grandchild.
