Kamil Kassees

WEST POINT — Kamil S. Kassees, 90, died Dec. 9, 2018, at his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in West Point with the Rev. Deacon Patricia Cantrell officiating. Burial with U.S. Military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Kassees was born July 14, 1928, in Jerusalem in Palestine, to the late Dr. Saadallah and Asma MuSallem Kassees. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed as an electronic aircraft engineer for Lockheed-Martin in Marietta, Georgia and E. Systems in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Incarnation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Speed Kassees; brother, John Kassees; and sisters, Doris Salman and Wedad Akeland. He is survived by his sisters, Samira Tuel of Richmond, Kentucky and Vera Mugannam of Rockland, California; and brothers, George S. Kassees of Plano, Texas and Samir S. Kassees of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Pallbearers will be John Tuel, Joe Stevens, Bill Sugg, Jim Chandler, Bill Portera and Kyle Chandler IV.
