STARKVILLE — Dr. Joseph E. Stockwell Jr., 96, died, Feb. 20, 2022.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church’s courtyard Columbarium. A celebration of life will follow onsite. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Stockwell was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a graduate of Tulane University. He was formerly employed in the sales departments of Eastern Airlines, Air France and Continental Airlines, as an instructor of English at LSU and with Mississippi State University. He attended the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca S. Stockwell.
He is survived by his children, Anne Stockwell of Los Angeles, California and Joseph E. “Buddy” Stockwell of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
