Johnny Herron

Johnny Mac Herron, 68, of Ethelsville, AL, went to his heavenly home on July 25, 2022, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Mr. Herron was born April 12, 1954, in Columbus, MS to the late Shields & E.C. Herron. He was an active member of the Tupelo Church of God.
He retired after 26 years of service with FedEx. He loved spending time camping, fishing, and handyman work as well as spending time with his wife, his children, grandchildren, family, and great friends as well as his beloved two schnauzers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Harrell, Mary Nell Reeves, Linda Brooks and Shirley Baldwin; and two brothers, J.L. Harrison and Cecil Harrison.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 17 years, Judy Hudson Herron; two daughters, Christy Bouchillon (William) and Shannon Hampton (Wade); and one son, John Ashley Herron (Brandy); as well as two stepdaughters, Tammy Chapman (Jimmy) and Tracy Reams (Stephen; one brother, George Herron (Susie); and one sister, Christine Williams; grandchildren, Shay Cockrell (Katy), Zak Hampton, Gabe Herron, Cayden Mordecai, Chris Chapman (Tiffany) and Bradley Reams; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paxton Chapman. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Clarice Herron; as well as a host of loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Herron will be Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. A visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2022, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Living Faith Tabernacle. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM at Living Faith Tabernacle with Reverend Anthony Miller and Reverend Judd Vowell officiating with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Burial will proceed at Kennedy Cemetery in Kennedy, AL.
Pallbearers will be Shay Cockrell, Zak Hampton, Glenn Baldwin, Mark Baldwin, Chris Herron, Glenn Herron, Chris Chapman and Joey Stanley.
Honorary pallbearers will be fellow FedEx employees.
