ABERDEEN — John Ray Peters, 84, died Oct. 7, 2012, at Pioneer Hospital. Services are Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Sandra Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services. Mr. Peters was born Jan. 7, 1928, to the late John Henry Peters and Wilma Sue Towery Peters. He was a truck driver for Cullum Trucking and a member of First Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Peters Barnette and Betty Peters Grubbs. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Sue West Peters of Aberdeen; daughter, Terri Peters Allen of Sulligent, Ala.; sons, Richard Alan Peters of Saltillo and Michael Ray Peters of Aberdeen; sister, Shirley Hawkins of Nettleton; brothers, Henry Rex Peters of Shannon, Gary Peters of Columbus, Jake Peters of Nettleton and Danny Joe Peters of Okolona; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are John Peters, Steve Allen, Justin Peters, Ty Peters, Nick Stuckey and Rexel Peters.
