John Paul Barber

John Paul Barber, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 10, 2012, in Columbus, MS. He was a resident at The Arrington Assisted Living Community. Visitation for Mr. Barber will be Wednesday, December, 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Wright and Ferguson Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS. Rev. Earl Adams will be officiating. Mr. Barber was born January 20, 1921, in New Hebron, MS to Jim Barber and Bertha Sullivan Barber. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Branning Barber; brother, Victor C. Barber; daughters, Cynthia (Tim) Wallace and Janice (Dan) Logan; and grandchildren, Brandon L. Wallace, April Wallace, Chris Logan, and Carter Logan. Mr. Barber served in the US Army during WWII, 3rd Infantry Division, and retired from the Army Reserves. He retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS.
