AMORY â€” John Jacob Kessler, 91, died Feb. 16, 2009, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Centerâ€“Amory. Services are Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Hatley Cemetery at a later date. Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Mr. Kessler was born Oct. 4, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Frances Nagle Kessler. He lived in Geneva, Ohio, and for 45 years in Amory. He retired from True Temper Sports and was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Marks Kessler; and brothers, Jacob, Joseph and Larry Kessler. He is survived by his sons, Tayler John Kessler of Springboro, Pa., and John Frank Kessler of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; daughter, Karen Lee Hightower of Amory; brothers, Rudy Kessler of Painesville, Ohio, and Billy Kessler of Lima; sisters, Betty Cashin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Kathy Kondas of Lima, Ohio; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William Pickle, Charles Aiken, Dwayne Hightower, Chris Conwill, and Frank and Travis Kessler. Memorials may be made to the St. Helen Catholic Church, P.O. Box 97, Amory, MS 38821.
