HAMILTON — John Allen Cockerham, Sr., 95, died March 9, 2019. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton. Visitation is Saturday from 1:30-3 p.m. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Cockerham was born Jan. 14, 1924, to the late James Warren and Elizabeth Grant Cockerham. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School and was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. He was a veteranof the U.S. Army. John Allen served as Third District Monroe County Supervisor for a number of years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his sisters, Eloise Cockerham Brewer and Louise Cockerham Byrd; brother, James Cockerham; son, John Cockerham Jr.; and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae Cockerham; brother, Sam Grady Cockerham; children, Philip Lance Cockerham and Terry Garner Cockerham, both of Hamilton, Lisa Cockerham Martin of Trussville, Alabama, and Kevin Wayne Cockerham (Cindy) of Hamilton; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wesley Cockerham, Tracey Cockerham, Micah Martin, Kemmins Cockerham, Grayson Cockerham, and Lynn West. Memorials may be made to Abby Acres 50771 Old Highway 25 S Amory, MS 38821.
