John Thomas Carrigan, Jr., died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home in Memphis, TN. Memorial services are Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 11 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Mr. Carrigan was born July 25, 1945, in Birmingham, AL to Mrs. Stella Carrigan and the late Mr. John Carrigan, Sr. He graduated from Trussville High School and served in both the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Army. He was a chemist and electrical engineer working in water treatment in Jefferson County, AL, and later as the site manager of the Flight Simulation Center at Columbus Air Force Base. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his son, Mr. Joel Carrigan (Lauren) of Derry, NH; grandson, Ryan Carrigan of Derry, NH; daughter, Dr. Brenna Carrigan-McClinsey (Jim) of Middletown, NY; mother, Mrs. Stella Carrigan of Memphis; sister, Dr. Mary Carrigan Carter (Jerry) of Memphis; niece, Rachel Carter of Memphis; and nephew, Alex Carter of Memphis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Annunciation Chapel Renovation Fund or to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA.org).
