COLUMBUS — John E. Adams, 90, died July 7, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, at Southside M.B. Church. Visitation will be three hours prior to services at the church. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adams was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Columbus, to the late Elexander Adams and Elizabeth Adams. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed at Cavement Steel in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of Southside M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Adams; children, Renard Adams, Christopher Adams, Patricia Adams-Washington and Phillip Knox; step-sons, Brady Mariel and Adam Clayton; and siblings, Bertha Turner, Lori Ann Adams and James Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Adams; children, Linda Harris, Ricky Adams, Darryl Adams, Vernita Knox-Ritcliffe, all of Chicago Heights, Illinois, John Adams Jr. of Columbus, Lazenia Adams-Griffin of Richton Park, Illinois and Monique Thompson of Elkhart, Indiana; step-children, Albert Dean of Seattle, Washington, Virginia Jackson of Minnesota, Abigail Jordan of Maryville, Indiana and Frendia Jordan of Albany, Georgia; sister, Kara Lee Fulgham of Detroit, Michigan; 52 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
