COLUMBUS — Joe Lee Ferguson, 66, died Feb. 20, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle. Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Hope High School Gymnasium with the Rev. Eugene Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus. Mr. Ferguson was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Lowndes county to the late Tommy Ferguson Sr. and Julia Mae Thomas. He was retired from Airline Manufacturing and was a member of New Hope CME Church, where he served as steward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Dora Ferguson, of Columbus; daughters, Glenda Foxx, Sonja Ferguson Williams and Debra Morris; son, Joe Ferguson, all of Columbus; brother, Willie B. Ferguson, of Muskegon, Mich.; sisters, Fannie Will Stevenson and Pearlie Williams, both of Columbus, Bertha Williams, of Chicago, and Celia Moore, of Columbus; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers are Marco Robinson, Jimmy Clark, Eric Slater, Robert Moore, Rozell Roby and Jimmy Cotton.
