MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Jimmy Bernard Summerville, 42, died May 15, 2009, at his residence. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lee Middle School Auditorium in Columbus with the Rev. Howard Griffen officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is today from 12:30-8 p.m. with a wake from 6-8 p.m. at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Columbus. Mr. Summerville was born May 8, 1967, in Columbus. He was a construction worker and a member of Brick Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Oden. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Joiner-Summerville of Memphis; mother, Julia Summerville; grandmother, Daisey Summerville of Columbus; daughters, Jameica and JaMisha Summerville; sisters, Vanassa Griffen of Memphis and Stacey Summerville of Columbus; brothers, Victor and Melvin Summerville, both of Columbus, and Freddrick Summerville of Memphis; and one grandson.
