CEDAR BLUFF — Jesse Lloyd Taylor, 83, died April 22, 2009, at University Medical Center–Jackson. Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Minister Tommy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Columbus Memorial Garden Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation is Sunday for two hours prior to services at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Fulton to the late Jessie Lucille Price and Arthur Floyd Taylor. He was a self-employed painting contractor and a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Joyce Miller; and stepfather, Henry August Fromm. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Lawson Taylor of Cedar Bluff; daughters, Elizabeth Carol Fisher of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Cheryl Lucille Tittle of Cedar Bluff; sons, Henry Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Frank Taylor of Yucaipa, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Christopher and Matthew Armstrong, Henry and Frank Taylor, Carol Fisher and Billy Price.
