Jeffrey Howard “Jeff” Landon age 56 died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 6:00 p.m. until service time. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 27, 2009 at Silver Creek Cemetery in Youngstown Ohio. Jeff was born on March 10, 1953 in Amherst, OH to the late Howard Landon and Audrey Williams Landon. Jeff graduated from The Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and from the University of Dayton with an MBA. He and his wife Phyllis were married in Jamestown, Ohio August 18, 1979. He was a hard worker who always put his family first. He adored his best friend and wife, Phyllis. He had an unconditional love for his three children and loved spending time with them. He was a man of God who loved Jesus above all else. He believed everything was a heart issue and he had a passion for changing hearts for Christ. Very important to him was his quiet time with God every morning. He had an insatiable love for learning; loving to read and listening to talk radio. He was an Independent who always loved to think “out of the box.” Everyone loved his sense of humor and he kept his friends and family laughing all the time. He enjoyed sports and attending games with his family. He had a passion for jogging and broccoli. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister Kimberley and brother Greg. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Gillenwater Landon of Columbus, MS; one daughter, Jennifer Landon Augsburger (Sam), of Lafayette, IN; two sons: Scott Landon, of Columbus, MS and John Landon, of Indianapolis, IN; his mother: Audrey Williams Landon, of Amherst, OH. Other relatives include: in-laws: Jack and Shirley Gillenwater of Springfield, OH; brother-in-law and sistersin- law: Stephen and Tina Creamer Gillenwater and Doug Gillenwater (all of Jamestown, OH) and Tim and Terri Elmer of Texas; nieces and nephews: Jay and Stephanie Fitchpatrick (Leesburg, Oh), Matt and Kristen Tamplin (Jamestown, OH), Nikki Clark (OH), Kelly and Jake Coleman (Hawaii), Amanda Tamplin (Texas), Brandon Elmer (Utah), Brian and Jamie Lunt (Utah), Bryson and Ashley Green (Utah) Dustin Elmer (Utah), Mie Lunt (Nevada), Aaron and Christy Porter (Texas), William Elmer (Texas); great nieces and nephews: Ethan Clark and Makenna Clark (Jamestown, Ohio), Ian Tamplin and Kiera Tamplin (Jamestown, Ohio), Austin and Kennedy Lunt (Nevada),and Madison Fitchpatrick (Leesburg, Ohio); uncles: Jack (Luann) Williams, Marlin Williams, Larry Williams, Kelly (Donna) Williams, Tom (Pat) Williams, Jim (Carroll), and Frank Williams. Pallbearers will be Tim Elmer, Sam Augsburger, John Landon, Roger Burlingame, Jmi Patterson and Steve McEwen.
