STARKVILLE — Janet Lois Alsup Wise, 78, died Dec. 9, 2022, at her residence.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Carr and Erwin Chapel. Burial will follow at Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg, Tennessee. Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wise was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Pulaski, to the late James William and Gladis Marie McCartney. She attended Martin College in Pulaski and was a graduate of David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Florida State University, and Duke University. She was formerly employed as a teaching assistant in the Department of Biological Science at Florida State University, and as an instructor at Martin College, Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina, St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia, Columbus High School, and Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. She also served as a tutor in Adult Education at Emerson School.
She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Wise; son, Michael Eric Wise of Nashville; siblings, James “Jimmy” Alsup and Carol Alsup Houge of Pulaski; and two grandchildren.
