MANTEE — James Morris “Big Daddy” Wright, 98, died Feb. 5, 2009, at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pine Bluff Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Stallings officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Mantee with Masonic graveside honors. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point, and the body will be at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Mr. Wright was born July 18, 1910, in Clay County to the late Callie Doni Morris and Benjamin Franklin Wright. He was a crane operator for Babcock & Wilcox Company for 22 years and a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church. He was a Master Mason and member of Montpelier Masonic Lodge F & AM # 220. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Johnson Wright; brothers, Roy, William and Carey Wright; sisters, Marie Wight Willingham, Myrtle Wright Douglas and Elizabeth Wright McCarter. He is survived by his daughters, Emmajean Lee Stafford of Greensboro, N.C., Polly Wright Horn of Houston and Pauline Wright Neal of Mantee; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Awtrey, Adrain Larson, Jimmy Wacaser, Jody Blissard, and Ronnie, Tracy, Skyler and Tyler Neal.
