WEST POINT — James Small Ross, 87, died Dec. 18, 2018, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darian Duckworth officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ross was born Nov. 1, 1931, in Jackson, to the late Thomas Mason Ross Sr. and Eleanor Small Ross. He was a 1951 graduate of Central High School in Jackson and a 1957 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 31st Infantry Division. He was formerly employed with Crawford and Company Insurance Adjusters and in the automobile and furniture manufacturing industries. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Mason Ross Jr. and Micky H. Ross. He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Cheryl Ross Cork of Mooreville; son, Ben Ross of Hernando; sisters, Betsy Ross Favara of Jackson, Tennessee and Elizabeth Ross Smith of Mt. Vernon, Oregon; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Colin Cork, Cade Cork, Nathan Ross, Jackson Ross, Alex Taylor and Dewitt Cooperwood. Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice, P.O.
