COLUMBUS — James “Jessie” Lee Pippins, 78, died May 25, 2021, at Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Graveside services will be at noon Thursday, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Bobby L. McCarter Sr. officiating. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pippins was born Aug. 20, 1942, in Columbus, to the late George Pippins and Alice Eggleston. He was a graduate of R.E. Hunt High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as a housekeeping supervisor with Microtek Medical. He was a member of Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Pippins.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Pippins; children, Elisabeth Mosley, Rhonda Sanders, Carolyn Carter, all of Columbus and Stafford Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; siblings, Frank Pippins of Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie Pippins, Mary Moore and Annie Pippins, all of Columbus. And 12 grandchildren.
