James Robert Godfrey, 77, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Michelle Dawn Godfrey. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Godfrey; son, Rodney (Tammy) Godfrey of Columbus; daughter, Tonya (Joshua) Slaughter of Florence, MS; grandchildren, Abigail Moak and Brayden Slaughter; brother, Joe (Elizabeth) Godfrey of Caledonia; and sister, Jackie (Warren) Shepherd of Columbus.
