James Brown Sr.

BEAVERTON, Ala. — James R. “PeeWee” Brown Sr., 79, died March 6, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Otts Funeral Home, with Randall Tice officiating. Burial will follow at Love Joy Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brown was born April 4, 1942, in Vernon, Alabama, to the late Burlie Brown and Della Black. He attended school in Beaverton and was formerly employed in the logging business. He was a member of Love Joy Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilburn Brown, Clayton Brown, Robert Lee Brown, Clarence Brown and an infant brother; and sisters, Dollie Lucas and Glenda Daw.
He is survived by his sons, James Brown Jr. and Chris Brown, both of Guin, Alabama; daughters, Delois “Sissy” Cole and Tina Miles, both of Guin; brothers, Denver Brown and Burlie Ray Brown, both of Beaverton; sister, Willie Ruth Brown of Beaverton; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Brown Jr., Jeremy Brown, Dillion Atkins, Destin Miles, John Ledlow and Jacob Flynn.
