AMORY — Jack Arvil Brown, 71, died May 17, 2010, at his home. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bros. Jim Manley and Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will continue until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, Mr. Brown was born Dec. 22, 1938, to the late Jessie Audis and Geneva Mae Cantrell Brown. Before his retirement, he worked for the BNSF Railroad. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Cason Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Brown; one sister, Beth Flurry; and a grandson. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Hester Brown, of Amory; sons, Mark Brown, Darrin Brown and Bart Brown, all of Amory; brother, Jerry Brown, of West Point; sister, Betty Holland, of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Noland Hester, Hershel Hood, Danny Hester, Dudley Hester, Jeremy Hester, Eric Sanders, Jack B. Brown and Charley Holland.
