REFORM, Ala. — James William “J.W.” Carpenter, 75, died Dec. 2, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hall and Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to and immediately following services. Mr. Carpenter was born March 3, 1942, to the late Elridge Carpenter and Nora McDaniel Carpenter. He was a graduate of Palmetto High School, the University of Alabama and Livingston University. He was a member of New Salam Baptist Church of Reform. He was previously employed with Southern Airways and Liberty National Insurance Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Murray. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Price Carpenter of Reform; daughter, Kimberly Carpenter Bell of Reform; sons, James Keith Carpenter of Gordo, Alabama; sisters, Kannie Mae Woolbright of Gordo and Peggy Burton of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Mike Hall of Reform; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Eddie Gault, Larry Handley, Roger Haynes, Allen McDaniel, Reginald Motley, Jim Crocker, Dennis Pugh and James Latham.
