Hildon McCullough

Hildon “Mac” Raford McCullough, 87, of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his residence.
Visitation was Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service followed at 2:00 PM in the chapel, with Bro. David May officiating. Interment was at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McCullough was born November 19, 1934, in Lamar County, AL, to the late Odell M. McCullough and Ludell F. McDaniel. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired as an MSGT after 25 years of service. Mr. McCullough also retired from Maxxim Medical in 1976 after 18 years of employment. He was a member of the Magnolia Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McCullough was preceded in death by his sisters, Merideth Fernau and Delores Atkins; and brother, Farrell McCullough.
Mr. McCullough is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Reeves McCullough; son, Mitchell “Mitch” (Jen) Wade McCullough; son-in-law, Rick Dodson; 4 grandchildren, Shay (Heather) Dodson, Mae Hatter, Reese McCullough, and Raega McCullough; and 2 great-grandchildren, Austin C. (Mary Grace) Dodson and Hayden C. Dodson.
Pallbearers were Rick Dodson, Shay Dodson, Austin Dodson, Hayden Dodson, Mark Frady, and Josh Frady.
Honorary pallbearers were Members of Magnolia Church of Christ, Staff of Mississippi Homecare, Dr. Brett Brown and staff, Denise Sanders, Sharion Long, and Janet Williams.
