Hazel Jones

Hazel Lena Atkins Jones, age 85, of Reform, AL, passed away April 19, 2023, at Northport Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, April 23, 2023, at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.

Hazel was born February 27, 1938, in Steens, Mississippi to the late William Turner Atkins and Lorita Bell Atkins. She attended New Salem Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress for Stevens Fashions and Country Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Jones; her parents; and two sisters, Frances Earline Reeves and Sallie Mae Brown.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Marie Jones Addison; two sons, Gary Eugene Jones and James Douglas “Jimmy” Jones (Cheri); five grandchildren, Jeremy Chad Smith, Detra Brooke Smith Bonner (Chris), Anna Christian Jones Waid (Adam), Rylee Kate Collins (Cody) and Curtis Bryan Jamerson (Kendall); five great-grandchildren, Audrey Hazel Smith, Ava Brooke McLemore, Wesleigh Blair Waid, Jo- Leigh Michelle Collins and Lettie James Collins; her fur baby, Pee Wee; a number of nieces and nephews and special friends, Glen Orr and Lori Vann Dawkins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Neil Honea, Allen McDaniel, Ola Merle Pike, Betty Duckworth, staff of Amedisys Home Health, DCH Northport ICU, New Hope High School Class of 1956, Shelby Ray, Betty Clardy and Brian Rothwell.
