MOOREVILLE — James Greely Jernigan, 62, died Feb. 13, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services are Monday at 11 a.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Rev. Thomas Warren officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is today at from 4-8 p.m. and will continue until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Jernigan was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Amory, to the late Marvin and Margaret Dodson Jernigan. He lived in Hatley and in Mooreville for several years. He attended Hatley schools and worked as a self-employed carpenter and for Gilmore-Puckett Lumber. He was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Jernigan; and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his sons, Gerald and Tommy Jernigan, both of Smithville, and Brian Jernigan, of Hamilton; daughter, Cherish Jernigan, of Smithville; sisters, Brenda Griggs, of Mooreville, Ann Easter, of Hatley, and Janice Warren of Okolona; fiancé, Janis Beaird Smith, of Mooreville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Thomas and Wayne Jernigan, Lamar Minor, Marty Warren, Chris Easter, Cameron Beaird and John Lopez.
