COLUMBUS – Grady “Buck” L. Jones Jr., died Jan. 25, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at Memorial Gardens, with Rayfield Evins Jr. officiating. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones was born March 3, 1951, in Ethelsville, Alabama, to the late Grady Jones Sr. and Katherine Stewart. He was a graduate of Hopewell High School and Mississippi State University. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed with American General Insurance and as the owner of the Liberty convenience store and Grady Jones Masonry, Inc. He was a member of Southside M.B. Church. He is survived by his wife, Sallie Jones; children, Paige Jones of Columbus and Marcey Ward of Chicago Heights, Illinois; siblings, Doris Jones, Janice Young, Emma Jean Lanier all of Columbus, Maezette Prewitt, Rose Coley both of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Linda Lash of Columbia, South Carolina, Beverly Mallard of Jackson, Sandra McCaa and Stanley Jones both of Birmingham, Alabama; and six grandchildren.
