Gracie Ella “Honey” McCoy died April 26, 2009, at Macon General Hospital in Macon. Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Christian Love MB Church in Macon with the Rev. E.B. Tate officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from noon-6 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon. Mrs. McCoy was born June 23, 1922, in Prairie Point to the late Fannie and Al Gilkey. She was a member of Christian Love MB Church in Prairie Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. McCoy; brothers, Tommie C., Rob, Alfred and Will Gilkey; and sister, Fannie Mae Outlaw. She is survived by her daughter, Lizzie Mae Patterson of St. Louis; sons, Willie C. McCoy and Willie McCoy Jr., both of St. Louis, and Samuel Earl McCoy of Jackson; sisters, Maude Smith, and Willie Ruth, Mary Ann and Mary Frances Gilkey, all of Macon, Daisy Gilkey and Ruby McCoy, both of Jackson, Willie Mae Gilkey of Birmingham, Ala., and Ella Mae Paige of Wyteke, Ill.; brothers, Lonzell and John B. Gilkey, both of Macon; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Troy Bryant and Willie Jr., Rodney, Demetris, Patrick and Anthony Outlaw.
