ABERDEEN — Gracie Woods Gosa, 87, died Dec. 29, 2009, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice in Verona. Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Gosa was born Aug. 10, 1922, to the late Joe Woods and Maggie Smith Woods in Lamar County, Ala. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County where she was a homemaker. She was a member of West Chapel Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Gosa Sr.; daughters, Nell Herron, Jeffie Mae Howe, Shelia McBunch, Ollie Fay Gosa and Minta Lou McDonald; sons, James Gosa and Robert Gosa. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Gunnels, of Springerville, Ariz., Dorothy Holley and Deeda Gosa Reeves, both of Aberdeen and Barbara Poss, of Sevierville, Tenn.; sons, Garfield Gosa Jr., of Harlem, Ga., and Roy Dink Gosa, of Burlington, Iowa; sister, Easter Lee Taylor, of Aberdeen and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Lee Gosa, Larry Reeves, Clifton Lee Holley, Kevin Poss, Michael Morris and Rob Steele.
