VERNON, Ala. — Glenn Roy Franklin Sr., 63, died May 3, 2009, at his residence. Services are today at 6 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Vernon with Dan Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon. Visitation is today from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Franklin was born May 30, 1945, in Birmingham, Ala. He was a truck driver and a veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter M. Franklin; and brothers, Jerry Wayne, W.M., Marvin Emmett and Rayburn Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Franklin of Vernon; sons, Glenn Roy Franklin of Vernon and Walter Allen Franklin of Hamilton, Ala.; daughters, Gale McDill of Caledonia, Rachel Edgeworth of Mantachie, Laura Franklin of Fayette, Ala., and Victoria Franklin of Caledonia; mother, Ruth Bolin; brothers, Donald Eads of Arkansas, Troy Wilson, Harold Bolin, James K. Bolin Jr. and Richard Williams, all of Columbus; sisters, Brenda Rodgers of Birmingham, Ala., and Kay Watts, Linda Bolin, Shirley Gilmore and Yvonne Hearn, all of Columbus; and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lance Heath, Eric Smith, Scott Van, Clyde Murdock, James Phelps, Richard Wilson Jr. and Roy Franklin Jr.
