WEST POINT — Georgia Mae Smith-Gladney, 95, died Jan. 16, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New St. Peter MB Church of West Point with the Rev. Charles Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Prairie Creek Cemetery of Woodland. Visitation will be today from 3-6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Service Chapel of West Point. Ms. Smith-Gladney was born in Clay County on Jan. 1, 1923, to the late Benjamin and Sarah Smith. She was formerly employed as a dietitian assistant. She is survived by her sons, George Gladney of Kansas City, Kansas and James Gladney of West Point; daughter, Mae Rush Donnell of Kansas City, Kansas; sisters, Octavia Wren of Senatobia and Lorene Myles of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
