West Point – Mr. G. H. “Henry” Donour, 85, passed away on December 10, 2017, at his residence, in West Point. Mr. G. H. “Henry” Donour, was born on February 14, 1932, in Tuscaloosa, AL, the son of the late Grover Hinton and Eula Burroughs Donour. Having lost his mother at an early age, Mr. Henry was raised by his father and Maydelle Williams Donour. Mr. Henry was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Henry was a Retired Postmaster with the United States Postal Service in West Point and worked as a Bookkeeper with the Campus and City Mail Service in Starkville. Mr. Henry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. Mr. Henry loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors. For his age, Mr. Henry was a high tech technological gadget fanatic. Mr. Henry married Dorothy Jean Ford on March 3, 1955, in Columbus and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2008. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 14, 2017, at 2:00 from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Daughter, Sharon Richardson (Colin) of Justin, TX, Two Sons, Kenneth Donour (Kathy) of Millport, AL, and Gary Donour (Sandra) of West Point; Five Grandchildren; Kristopher Donour (Ladawn) of Millport, AL, Kelly Wilson (Brian) of Bankston, AL, Megan Chavez (Peter) of Arlington, TX, Morgan Donour (Bobbie) of West Point, and Lindsey Richardson (Brett) of Houston, TX; Eight Great-Grandchildren; Karlie Roberts, Konner Roberts, Keegan Henry Donour, Ashley Harrison (Justin), Brooke Wilson (Wesley), Nikki Smith, Breana Jones, and Alexis Marcum and a Great-Great Grandchild, Axel Harrison. Pallbearers will be Bobbie Thompson, Michael Westmoreland, Jason Perry, Daniel Beardain, Colin Richardson, and Peter Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends and fellow workers of the United States Postal Service.
