MARIANNA, Ark. — Fred D. Heggs, 84, died Nov. 4, 2012, at Windsor Place. Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem MB Church in Marianna. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to services. Century Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Heggs was born April 12, 1928, to the late Elijah and Lula Heggs. He was a retired teacher and a member of Bethlehem MB Church and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Survivors include his sons, Fred Heggs Jr., of Fayetteville, N.C. and Frank Heggs of Little Rock, Ark.; daughters, Karen Smith of Little Rock and Dana McConnell of Columbus.
