AMORY — Franklin Latain Cook, 73, died Feb. 11, 2019, at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore Hospital in Amory. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Ricky Bowen and Eugene Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Cook was born Oct. 28, 1945, in Decatur, Alabama, to the late Avis Voss and Johnnie Boren Cook. She was a graduate of Itawamba County School and was formerly employed as a seamstress in the garment plant industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Cook; and brothers, Robert Voss and Mack Boren. She is survived by her sons, Kirby Turner and Donnie Turner, both of Mantachie and Matt Cook of Florence; daughters, Tammy Stanley of Brandon and Renay Tate of Amory; brothers, James Voss of Tupelo and Paul Boren of the Palestine Community; sisters, Lillie Roper and Ola Voss, both of Guntown and Peggy Stephens of Mantachie; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Phillip Roper, Blake Turner, Tyler White, Chris Bryant, Paul Boren, Terry Parker and Wyatt Landrum.
