WEST POINT — Frances Gaines Palmer Ghita, 95, died July 31, 2012, at Waverly Care Home. Graveside services are Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Montgomery, Ala., with the Rev. Winston Brooks officiating. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ghita was born Oct. 31, 1916, to the late Walter and Etta Collister Gaines. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Millbrook, Ala. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Benny “T.J.” Palmer and John Ghita. Survivors include her sons, Ben Palmer of Hamilton, William Lee Palmer of Smithville, Va., and Ted Palmer of Ashville, N.C. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
