Floyce Delora Norris Harper, age 79, died March 21, 2009, at her residence in Caledonia. A memorial service will be Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 6:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Ben Yarber officiating. The visitation will also be Thursday from 5:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Harper was born February 25, 1930, in Caledonia, MS, to the late Hobson and Madge Lindsey Norris. Mrs. Harper was a lifelong resident of Caledonia and attended Caledonia School. She married the late Harold Lee Harper, Sr. on December 24, 1945. Mrs. Harper worked for many years at the Columbus Country Club until her retirement. She loved children with all of her heart and the family requests that Memorials be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Mrs. Harper was a loving wife and mother, and for Mom family meant everything. She always had a kind word and smile for everyone she encountered, to know her was to love her. She loved her children, grandchildren, and family with all of her heart and they knew it. Mrs. Harper is survived by sons, Harold Lee “John” Harper, Jr. of West Point, MS, Anthony Glenn “Tony” Harper of Caledonia, MS, Jeffrey Ashley Harper of Caledonia, MS, and Richard Lynn Speed, Sr. of Caledonia, daughters, Theresa Ann “Teeter” Manzolillo of Caledonia, MS, and Sheila Gail Massey of Columbus, MS, sisters, Sible Roberson of Caledonia, MS, Gloria Waltman of Columbus, MS, and Wanda Joyce Toney of Caledonia, MS, grandchildren, Teri Leigh Robertson, Chris, Nathan, Derek, Greg, Brytnee, BreeAnna, Leah, and Merideth Harper, Billy, Randy, and Kristie Swails, Angel Andrews, Brad Coleman, Dana Massey, Jeremey VanDevender, Mindy Pumphrey, Seaton and Madison Cox, Michael Cosgrove, Rick Speed, and Michelle Schliemer, great grandchildren, Taylor, Michael, Logan, Colton, Jared, Wesley, Jamie, Jessica, Josie, Luke, Devin, Seth, Chelsea, Mary Alice, Medody, Landon, Trip, Ty, Megan, Preston, Dillan, Halley, Austin, Noah, Brooklyn, Nathan, Carson, J. P., Derrick, Chloe, JoJo, and Makinzie. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her sons, Douglas Wayne Harper and Gregory Keith Harper, and brother, James Eldridge Norris.
