GORDO, Ala. — Fay Cash Beaty, 83, died May 12, 2009, at her residence. Graveside services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Lawrence County, Ala., with Dr. Billy Weems and the Rev. John Ryan officiating. Memorial services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gordo First United Methodist Church. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform, Ala., is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Beaty was born March 16, 1926, in Rockbridge, Va., to the late James M. and Bessie Puckett Cash. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and an affiliate member of Courtland United Methodist Church. She moved from Speake, Ala., to Gordo about three years ago. She was a homemaker and a foster parent to over 28 children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Beaty; brother, Gerald Cash; sisters, Patricia Grooms and Marilyn Farner; and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her daughters, Rubifaye Beaty Weems, Lois Albright and Clara Stohlquist; sons, Gordon and John Charles Beaty; sisters, Betty Brothers and Linda Ryan; brothers, James, Larry, Ray and Ralph Cash; 15 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
