MIAMI, Fla. — Fannie P. Mathis, 77, died Aug. 25, 2022, in columbus.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, at New Baptist Temple M.B. Church in Columbus, with Earnest Cobbs officiating. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mathis was born Aug. 25, 1945, in Columbus, to the late Fannie Francis Council and Jordan Council. She was formerly employed as a CNA at Landmark Learning Center and was a member of God’s Family Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Mathis Jr.; and siblings, Addie Council, Jessie Cooney and Earlie Council.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy D. Mathis of Miami; son, Arthur B. Mathis III of Georgetown, Georgia; sisters, Beauty Pearl Robinson and Lue Ella Latham, both of Columbus; and two grandchildren.
