Amory– Elsie Mae Pickle Lewis, 75, died June 29, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Services will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory, with the sRev. Bob Wilburn and Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Visitation is today from 5- 8 p.m. and will continue until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pickle Cemetery. Mrs. Lewis was born June 4, 1934, in Monroe County to the late Elgie and Ruby Camp Pickle. She lived in Columbus and in the Amory area for the past 14 years. She worked in the garment industry and retired as a state school employee. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Amory. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loys Denver Lewis and a twin brother, Elton Ray Pickle. Survivors include son, Billy Eugene White, of Columbus; daughters, Dorothy White Prestridge, of Amory, and Marie Goble, of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Mavis McCrary and Mable Chambers, both of Hatley; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard Chambers, Jake Madison, Michael Prestridge, Herbert Tedford, Robert Mallard, Allen Kuntz sand Shawn Gore.
