WEST POINT — Ella Pearl Pate, 84, died Oct. 5, 2018, at Waverly Care Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with John Bauer officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pate was born June 11, 1934, in Bolivar County in the Alligator Community, to the late John Allen and Willie Belle Gore Burges. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper with Knickerbocker and Big Yank Manufacturing and was a member of Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Nathen Pate; and brothers, Willis Albert, Charles Preston, Hubert Eugene and Harold “Bo” Burges. She is survived by her son, Allen Pate of Burns, Tennessee; sisters, Edna “Jeannie” Coleman of Montpelier and Betty Ann Criddle of Flowood; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tim Coleman, Robert Champion, Shane Austin, Benny Chandler, Adam Chandler, Phillip Cole, Jimmy Clark, Robert Craig, Doug Thompson, Darren Phelps, Les Pollard, Jake Pollard, Mark Coleman, Rusty Burges and Keith Burges.
