COLUMBUS — Elizabeth Goins “Polly” Knight, 78, died April 30, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital –Golden Triangle in Columbus. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Life Full Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Love officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 3-8 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Services; the family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. The body will be at the church an hour before services. Ms. Knight was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Columbus to the late Moses and Pearlee Goins. She retired from Phoenix Dye Works after 30 years. She was a member of New Life Full Gospel Baptist Church and USBC Bowling Association, a mother of New Life FGBC, former member of St. Matthew MB Church and secretary of the textile union. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Knight; siblings, Richard Goins, Dorothy P. Goins, Mary Hardwick, Martha Moore, Linda Robinson and Queen Simmons. Survivors include children, Billy Ray Knight, Jackie Knight and Charlie Goins Jr., all of Columbus, and Earline Goins and Lillie Ruth Wilkerson, both of Cleveland, Ohio; siblings, William Goins, of Chicago, Aylia Yeak and Anne Marie Connelly, both of Muskegon, Mich., and Tommy Ray Goins, of Cleveland, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.
